Figen BEYHAN completed her undergraduate education in KTU Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture in 1989, and received her master's degree in 1994 and doctorate degrees in 1999 from Department of Architecture of Institute of Science and Technology at KTU. She worked as a research assistant at Department of Architecture at KTU between 1995-2000, as a lecturer at Department of Interior Architecture at KTU between 2001-2002, as Assistant Professor at Department of Architecture at KTU between 2003-2008 and as Associate Professor between 2009-2011. She continued her research as a visiting professor at University of New South Wales-Faculty of Building Environment-Sydney between 2003-2004. Between 2008-2011, Sheserved as Head of Department of Building Sciences at KTU and as Deputy Head of Department of Architecture at KTU in 2009. Between September 2010 and February 2011, She worked as a faculty member at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture with Farabi Exchange Program. Shestarted to work as an Associate Professor at Gazi University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture as of November 2011, and received title of Professor in January 2015. At same time, She served as Head of Department of Interior Architecture at Gazi University between 2011-2016 and a Member of Senate between 2017-2020. Within framework of cooperation with companies, associations, foundations and Ministries in construction sector, She gave many vocational trainings, took part in workshops and contributed to competition juries. She has national and international articles, research projects, books and papers on fire safety in buildings, energy efficient building design, sustainable architecture, forensic architecture within scope of Architectural Design and Building Physics, which are her fields of study.
